The Royal Association for Deaf people

The Royal Association for Deaf people (RAD) exists to promote the welfare and interests of Deaf people (by which we mean deaf people whose first or preferred language is sign language).

Colchester YMCA's Young Deaf Club has launched a new website for parents and guardians of deaf children aged 12 to 17, living in the Essex region: www.youngdeafclub-parentsgroup.collectivex.com

temp-logo-small.jpgFor the first time, Deaf BSL users living in England and Wales with a low income or receiving benefits can obtain free and confidential legal advice through a webcam with a broadband connection. Caseworkers are fluent in BSL, and will provide specialist advice at Community Legal Service Specialist Quality Mark level.

RAD Legal Services has been working in partnership with the Legal Services Commision and with the Significan't Ltd to develop the service.

For further information click here or visit www.radlegalservices.org.uk
