DUKA would like to congratulate Glasgow on being awarded the 2014 Commonwealth Games

Deaf UK Athletics (DUKA) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing training, competitions and information relating to track and field, cross country, walking and road running athletics for those deaf people interested in this exciting sport in the UK.
We are all volunteers and are keen to make positive contributions to the world of athletics to the Deaf community in the United Kingdom.

It was an exciting time for the British team at the 1st World Deaf Championship. The competition level was high, 32 countries were set to compete in the event with a total 318 athletes. With 13 British Athletes striving for a gold medal the competition was going to be fantastic to watch. To read the full article click here

Deaflympics in association with Turkey WC Organising Team has announced the World Championships Provisional Timetable. The event which will be held in Izmir Turkey is the 1st World Deaf Athletics Championships.

The idea for the DUKA Ranking List is to identify the most talented and top ranked deaf athletes in the UK. The reward for ranking top could be a place in the GB team for the Deaflympics.

:: New Audiogram Regulations for Deaf Athletes

Deaf UK Athletics has been informed by the Deaflympics Athletics Director of the new regulations. With immediate effect, all NEW deaf athletes MUST complete their hearing test using the latest Deaflympics Audiogram form.
Deaf athletes who have previously represented GB in Championship events such as the Deaflympics (formerly World Game of the Deaf) and European Championships do NOT need to complete the audiogram again. For more information click here

As a result of many requests, DUKA has to announce that the Training Session planned for 25th to 27th July 2008 has been rescheduled to 19th-20th July 2008. Many athletes, their families, friends and coaches are keen to attend the UK Athletics Crystal Palace Grand Prix Athletics competition in London that same weekend. For more information click here

Deaf UK Athletics is pleased to announced that we have agreed with Northwood Stadium, Hanley, Staffordshire to host two training weekends in Stoke On Trent’s World Class Athletics stadium in preparation for the forthcoming World Athletics Championships of the Deaf in Turkey, September 2008. Deaf UK Athletics has set up a new Ranking List for Men and Women of all ages. The ranking list will display the top 5 deaf UK athletes.
To get in the ranking list, athletes MUST provide OFFICIAL details of their competitions. If you do not have an official result, we can accept published results from acceptable websites or photocopies from official magazines such as Athletics Weekly, Runners World etc. showing the results.
If the results are from magazines or newspapers, their dates MUST be visible in the scanned or photocopied article. For more information click here

Deaf UK Athletics is pleased to announce that we have won the Bronze Award in the Norwich Union Join Our Team 2007 campaign.
Norwich Union said “The first Norwich Union Community Sports Fund took place in 2007, and was a huge success. In all, 176 of the 216 local sports initiatives involved secured at least £1,000 worth of funding. For more information click here
